Boulder is the rare place where a short trip actually feels transformative. With the mountains at your doorstep and a town built around movement, nature, and good food, 36 hours is plenty—if you do it right.
Stay:
Base yourself at the St Julien Hotel & Spa, Boulder’s most refined and effortlessly comfortable hotel. The rooms are serene and spacious, the location is unbeatable (steps from Pearl Street and trailheads), and the spa is designed for deep restoration—think eucalyptus steam rooms, whirlpool soaking tubs, and a tranquil relaxation lounge that gently slows your nervous system the moment you arrive.
Massage (book ahead):
For truly exceptional bodywork, head to Symmetry360. Their approach blends clinical expertise with intuitive touch, and the therapists specialize in long, customized sessions that address posture, alignment, and deep muscular tension. It’s the best massage I’ve had—full stop—and notably more affordable than hotel spa treatments.
Morning movement:
Start your day at Yoga Pearl, directly across the street from the St Julien. Their classes are intelligent, grounded, and welcoming—rooted in mindful alignment and breath rather than flash. It’s the kind of studio that feels local, calm, and quietly excellent.
Breakfast + trail fuel:
Grab breakfast or sandwiches to go before heading out. The Yellow Deli is pure Boulder eccentricity—in the best way. Cozy, handcrafted interiors, homemade breads, and hearty, nourishing food that feels like it came from another time. If you’re in a hurry, Lolita’s Market & Deli makes excellent made-to-order sandwiches—simple, satisfying, and perfect trail fuel.
Hiking:
You truly can’t go wrong hiking in Boulder. With limited time, I optimize for proximity, and I’ve pinned the closest trailhead on the map—it delivers sweeping foothill views without turning the day into a logistics exercise. If you want more, Boulder offers endless options: longer climbs, quieter paths, or iconic Flatiron routes.
Dinner:
Finish the day at Cozobi Fonda Fina for upscale Mexico City–inspired cuisine. The bar is ideal for a solo dinner or date night—warm, intimate, and lively without being loud. The cocktails are exceptional, the food is elegant and soulful, and the whole place feels celebratory in a very Boulder-meets-CDMX way. ’ve pinned a few additional Boulder gems on the map as well—because even a short stay here rewards a little wandering. Boulder has a way of making you feel better fast.
INTERACTIVE GOOGLE MAP: All of the recommendations on this itinerary (and extra bonus ones) are pinned in the map embedded here that you’re welcome to copy over into your own google maps and customize to your own liking. You can also click on any of the dots once in Google map view to read a little blurb about each spot. Yellow = lodging, Green = activity, Blue = food.
